Software Engineer, Virtual Storage

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another

• Write, test, and maintain product or system development code for core Google Compute Engine storage connectivity features
• Partner closely with teams responsible for the storage layer to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Design and implement solutions utilizing APIs to high-performance network storage across a virtualized interface

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture

• High-speed access to both ephemeral local storage and replicated network-based storage
• Tangible, high-impact improvements for Google Cloud customers
• Opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows and evolves
